Your capacity, your configuration, no neighbours
A shared datastore fits most needs. Past a few dozen terabytes, or when internal policy calls for isolated hardware, a whole server becomes easier to run and to justify. We size it with you, rack it in our facility and maintain it. What runs on it is up to you.
Dedicated hardware
A Dell or 2CRSi server assigned to a single customer. Drives, CPU and memory are shared with no one, and neither is the performance.
Proxmox Backup Server expertise
ZFS layout, datastores, verify schedules, garbage collection and retention: we set up PBS the way we do for our own platform.
Network and addresses
A 1 Gbit/s uplink, one dedicated IPv4 address to start with, more once we have reviewed your needs, and IPv6 if you use it.
Two ways to run it
Hardware, power, cooling and network stay with us in both cases, and so does replacing a failed part. The difference is the software layer.
Managed
Default- We install and maintain Proxmox Backup Server, or Proxmox VE on a server dedicated to that role

Root access
On request- Full administrator access to the system

Since the software layer is in your hands, we cannot guarantee how it runs.
What you can do with it
One server, one role: we do not mix backup and virtualization on the same machine. The most common uses:
A dedicated Proxmox Backup Server
A backup target for your Proxmox VE clusters alone, with the capacity and retention your volumes call for.
A dedicated Proxmox VE for restores
A second dedicated server running Proxmox VE in the same datacenter as your PBS, to test restores without touching production or to bring your machines back up after an incident: disaster recovery as a service, a few metres from your data.

Dedicated servers separate from your PBS can form a Proxmox VE cluster managed by our team, to run your production workloads.

How we get you running

Talk through your needs
Volumes to protect, retention, expected growth, whether you need a Proxmox VE server besides the PBS, how many IP addresses, and which operating mode.

Proposal and quote
We send a priced Dell or 2CRSi configuration, with the usable storage it gives once PBS is in place.

Build and racking
A few days if the configuration is in stock, a few weeks otherwise. We work with responsive suppliers.

Handover
You receive your PBS access, or your bastion and SSH access in root mode, and we stay your point of contact from then on.

No data other than yours ever goes through the machine.
Data in France
Hosted in a French datacenter, by a company incorporated in France.
Client-side encryption
With native PBS encryption, backups are encrypted before they leave your servers. The key stays with you.

How much does a dedicated server cost?
Pricing is quoted per project: it depends on capacity, drives, memory, the number of IPv4 addresses and the operating mode. Describe your needs through the contact form and we will come back with a priced proposal.
How much storage can a server hold?
When we configure the machine, we offer servers of up to 270 TB, or more depending on the drive sizes chosen.
Managed or root access: which one should I pick?
In managed mode we install and maintain the software of each server, Proxmox Backup Server or Proxmox VE depending on its role, while you manage your backups. With root access you run the system and the software yourself. Either way, hardware, network and power remain our responsibility.
How do I reach the server in root mode?
Through a bastion host or a dedicated admin SSH account.
How long does it take to get a server?
A few days if the requested configuration is in stock, a few weeks if the hardware has to be ordered.
How many IP addresses do I get?
One dedicated IPv4 address to start with. More can be added once we have reviewed your needs, and IPv6 is available on request. The server has a 1 Gbit/s uplink.
How is this different from an instance on the Pricing page?
An instance on the Pricing page is an isolated Proxmox Backup Server that we run on our platform, at a fixed monthly price based on capacity. A dedicated server is the whole physical machine, sized to your needs, with its own IP addresses, and a dedicated Proxmox VE server can be added for your restores.
