How to start a backup

Introduction

With Proxmox Backup Server you can to start a “one-shot” backup for a specific virtual machine or container.

This backup won’t be part of a scheduled plan and will be only executed once.

PVE Configuration

Once your are connected on your Proxmox VE interface :

• On the left side select a Virtual machine or Container ⇒ Backup ⇒ Backup now

On the Backup box :

• You can customize the email field to receive a notification at the end of jobs

• Select Backup

Once the backup is over :

• On the left side select the Virtual Machine or Container you just backed up ⇒ Backup

• Your first backup is here, your can browse it and try to restore a single file, or the full disk.
